Top tips: Raffles

If you hold a small raffle at your event, you do not need a licence. You’ll need to make sure you sell the tickets and draw the raffle during the main event, even if your event runs for a few days. If you’re planning on running a raffle online, using a platform like JustGiving, don’t forget to tick the box when asked if you’re organising a raffle. This is so they know not to claim the Gift Aid on your ticket sales as money raised from raffles is not eligible for Gift Aid.   You can check the latest guidance and advice online with the Gambling Commission or get in touch
