Fostering Ukrainian children
Hope and Homes for Children supports the UK government’s ‘Homes for Ukraine’ initiative, however we are not able to support with matching refugees with families in the UK. If you are considering opening your home to refugees, we encourage you to register with the government led ‘Homes for Ukraine’ initiative https://homesforukraine.campaign.gov.uk/.
Enquiries from Ukrainian refugees
Hope and Homes for Children is not involved in supporting the housing of Ukrainian refugees coming to the UK. Please visit the UK government’s website for advice on this. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/homes-for-ukraine-scheme-frequently-asked-questions#for-those-arriving-to-the-uk
Sending goods overseas and volunteering in the crisis zone
Hope and Homes for Children’s expertise is in providing specialist and highly skilled staff who have many years of experience in working with vulnerable children who may have been subject to trauma, neglect and abuse. We do not send volunteers or goods and materials to our programmes overseas. There are many other local organisations sending goods so please contact them. Our need is for funds so we can continue to support our staff in helping the most vulnerable children and families.
You can also pledge practical support for Ukrainians arriving in the UK at https://www.sanctuaryfoundation.org.uk/ which is led by a close collaborator of Hope and Homes for Children, Krish Kandiah. The Sanctuary Foundation will share your details with Reset Communities and Refugees: https://resetuk.org/ an organisation that we believe will seek to match registrants with refugees as part of the government scheme.
