The exact number of children living in orphanages around the world is unknown.

This lack of reliable data means that millions of children remain invisible and at increased risk of neglect, abuse and trafficking. That’s why Hope and Homes for Children supports the All the Children Count Campaign which calls on the UN to include all children, wherever they live, in its statistics.
