Today, on 24 February 2023, one year since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Hope and Homes for Children, along with allied European child rights organisations, have joined efforts to take stock of the impact the war has had on children from Ukraine.

In our joint statement, we raise the alarm on the urgent need for strengthening child protection and care systems to provide the support children from Ukraine, in particular, those deprived of family care, need – both in Ukraine and in countries welcoming Ukrainian refugees.

We address our recommendations to EU and Ukrainian authorities, as well as the wider international community, on how to ensure these children received the care and support they deserve to recover from the trauma of war.
