The Our Voices Matter (OVM) Charter is a commitment signed on 16 January 2026 by young people, the Directors and SMTs of HHC programmes and partners, and the Trustees and Senior Management of Hope and Homes for Children. The young people want Our Voices Matter to be an international community of children and young people, a safe place of trust, fun and non-judgement, where they are taken seriously, listened to and encouraged to grow in confidence and ability to speak loudly about their future and the future of other children and young people, especially those less able to speak for themselves. Together, they pledge to work for a world where children and young people are treated with respect and love, appreciated and encouraged, are given the opportunity to grow up in a family, and where institutions are an unacceptable way of caring for children, while using the OVM Charter to leverage and champion support for the promotion and implementation of the Global Charter for Children’s Care Reform.
