The NDICI is the main funding instrument for external action for the period 2021-2027.
The communication establishing the €79.5 billion funding instrument calls for , in its annexes II – areas of cooperation for the geographic programmes, and III – areas of intervention for thematic programmes, the promotion of the transition from institutional to community-based care for children, as well as the promotion of new initiatives to build stronger child protection systems in third countries, (…) including by promoting the transition from institutional to community-based care for children.
