Isobel Eaton – Story Gatherer and Writer
I write about the work of Hope and Homes for Children and tell the stories of the children whom we support.
By training, I’m a broadcast journalist. I spent 10 years as a news and current affairs producer for BBC television and radio in London and a further 12 years as a freelance producer.
I did take a break from story-telling when my children were small, to run a crumble-making business with my husband.
Working for Hope and Homes for Children is easily the best job I’ve ever had. The stories we have to tell are so powerful and they matter. It’s a privilege to meet the families and the children, supported by our programmes. I’m really pleased that I’ve been able to bring the skills and experience I gained in my previous work to this new role.
And of course I love my job title – who wouldn’t?
