Hope and Homes for Children
Ways you can volunteer for a charity
There are so many different ways you can volunteer for a charity. From local opportunities to global initiatives, you can make a meaningful difference and support the causes you care about.
At Hope and Homes for Children, we’re committed to bringing millions of separated children back to family. We wouldn’t be able to do it without the incredible support of our volunteers. Read on for their inspiring examples.
Volunteer your time
It takes a village to get children back to family. That’s why supporters who volunteer their time are the backbone of everything we do.
Ellie has been one of our top volunteers for over a decade. She helps out in our offices with Supporter Care, helping to build the incredible community of supporters we have today.
“I’ve been volunteering for Hope and Homes for Children for nearly 14 years and continue to be inspired by the work they do. Volunteering gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling knowing I am helping to ensure that all children, with our support, get Back to Family.”

Spread the word
We’re more than a charity. We’re a global movement calling on world leaders to bring children back to family. That’s why we need as many voices as possible to spread the world. Voices like John’s.
John’s one of our incredible Volunteer Speakers, who travels to events across the UK to introduce people to Hope and Homes for Children. “I’ve supported Hope and Homes for Children since its very early days,” John says. “When I retired, I wanted to be more active in supporting the charity and so became a speaker on their behalf.”
As a father, grandfather and retired teacher I feel able to speak with passion and conviction about the importance for children of belonging to a loving family. I am full of admiration for all those who work for Hope and Homes for Children, and who dedicate their lives to bringing hope to so many children.

Get creative
Another great way to volunteer for a charity is to donate your skills, creativity and talents.
Chris Lock is a Salisbury-based photographer, renowned for capturing striking glimpses of the British countryside. He generously turns his work into calendars, printing and producing them himself, then donating all profits to Hope and Homes for Children.
“Chris has raised an incredible £65,154 over the years to support our work.”
