UK Government and an anonymous donor to triple your donation.
We’ve got some really exciting news – because from today, the UK government has announced that until March 31st, it will match all eligible donations up to £500,000 to Hope and Homes for Children’s Back to Family campaign.
This follows the UK Foreign Secretary, alongside Hollywood actor Barry Keoghan, launching the first-ever global campaign on care reform for children on January 17th.
Incredibly, an anonymous donor has agreed to match the same amount as the UK Government. That means any donation you make to us before 31st March could be tripled.
These remarkable gestures will allow us to work with more families, communities, local authorities and governments, to help the 5.4 million children confined in orphanages get Back to Family.
What is UK Aid Match?
If you haven’t heard of it, UK Aid match brings charities, the British public and the UK Government together to collectively change the lives of some of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. Over the last six years, 62 organisations from across the UK have run UK Aid Match projects in 35 countries, helping around 7.5 million people directly all around the world.
What impact could Aid Match have?
For us, this could be a gamechanger – allowing us to do three times as much with every pound we receive. That could mean more families reached, more communities supported, more children Back to Family.
The extra funds these matched donations provide can help children who’ve been traumatised to access services like counselling and psychological support. They can allow us to continue getting essential resources like food, fuel, clothing and school supplies to parents who are struggling to keep their families together. And they can help us train more foster parents, so that children who don’t have relatives to look after them can still grow up in loving homes.
And of course, these funds will also let us engage more local stakeholders and partners in the countries we work in, boosting our work to progressively close orphanages and end institutionalisation for good.
It’s genuinely fantastic to have the UK Government recognising the importance of our work.
But to maximise the full impact of these generous gestures, we need your support.
If you can donate today, your gift could do three times as much, so please give now if you can.
