Apprentice star Mongolian adventure
Star of The Apprentice, Nick Hewer, completed the Mongol Rally after setting off in July 2008. He drove the 10,000 miles in his 20-year-old Renault called Hortense, and doubled his £5,000 fundraising target to support our work.
Before starting his Mongolian adventure Nick said,
“Why am I driving 10,000 miles in an old car that can barely reach 60mph on a good road? Because it’s time for an adventure and because, in doing so, I am hoping to raise lots of money for Hope and Homes for Children.”
And Nick has done exactly that! He travelled across five mountain ranges and across three deserts on a trip that took him through France, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan before he arrived in Mongolia’s capital, Ulan Bator.
Also don't forget to watch Nick on a visit to our projects in Rwanda where he met some young entrepreneurs whose lives and stories have left a lasting impression on him.
