We need your support
Hope and Homes for Children depends on the generosity of charitable trusts and foundations to help us expand our programmes in order to reach more children across Central and Eastern Europe and Africa.
We have a wide range of child-focused projects and there is currently funding opportunities in all of the countries we work in:
We also need funds that can be used flexibly across all of our projects, giving us the ability to focus funding wherever it is most needed.
How you can support our work We have opportunities for funders of all sizes and would be pleased to discuss any of our projects with you. Our dedicated team will work with you to ensure that we meet your organisational objectives. Whether you choose to support us with a one-off grant or prefer to be involved in a multi-year project, we are here to ensure that your grant is brought to life and its value fully realised.
Reporting back If you do decide to support our work, we will keep you fully informed of any developments in the project you choose to fund. Each project is continually monitored and evaluated by our in-country staff and we will work in conjunction with them to produce the following progress reports for you:
- an interim report to cover the first 6 month period of your chosen project
- an annual report
Our team look forward to working closely with you in the future and we are always on hand to respond promptly to any requests for information and to meet all your reporting criteria.
Working with us “Sofronie Foundation started working with Hope and Homes for Children in 2007 by co-funding the closure of the Abrud institution in Romania. The institution was a bleak place. The children’s school and living accommodation were within the same building so the children had little opportunity to interact with other people or move beyond the confines of the institution. Hope and Homes for Children took great care to fully assess the children to properly determine their requirements and how best to re-home them. A total of 60 children were moved out of the institution and into more suitable accommodation, where they can now benefit from growing up in a family environment within the community. In September 2008 the Abrud Institution was closed forever. “Hope and Homes for Children stayed in close contact with us throughout the closure process and our relationship has gone from strength to strength. As a result, we are now funding the closure of a second institution in Romania – the Comanesti institution in Bacau County. As a funder it has been a tremendously rewarding experience to be able to support such a transformational change in childcare services. Sofronie Foundation is delighted to be involved in such worthwhile work.” Vivien Gunn from Sofronie Foundation
The Comanesti institution closed on 4 March 2010 – read more. The Sofronie Foundation is now funding the reform of childcare systems in Rwanda and the closure of its first institution for children. The Sofronie Foundation is also seeking to support another project in Romania.
