Rotarys Africa Hope
In July 2004, we were delighted to be selected as the RIBI’s preferred International Project. Rotary’s Africa Hope provides a vital lifeline for orphaned children and vulnerable families in Rwanda and South Africa and helps them to plan for an independent future. The initiative has been a great success and has already raised over £600,000. To find out more about the children and young people who are being supported through Rotary’s Africa Hope click here.
An ideal partnership
Gordon McInally
RIBI President 2004 - 2005
"For the last 14 years, Hope and Homes for Children has been helping some of the poorest children in the world. I am delighted that Rotary has been supporting their work for much of that time.
The partnership between Rotary and Hope and Homes for Children is a perfect example of how we can work with other agencies to meet the needs of vulnerable children and their families – especially in areas where there are few Rotary clubs.
Having visited Africa and met with fellow Rotarians there, I have seen with my own eyes the desperately important work that Hope and Homes for Children is doing. Where there was despair there is now real hope – hope for a future where families can be self-reliant with improved self-esteem.
Whilst in Africa I made two promises to the children I met there – I promised to tell people about them and I promised to try and hep them. I have taken every opportunity to fulfil the first of these promises. I need you to hep us to fulfil the second.”
