Joe Glackin – Head of Programme Development

My current position has a wide and interesting remit with a focus on quality and learning within the organisation. I previously worked as the Regional Manager Africa at Hope and Homes for Children when I first started in 2007.

Before that I worked with UNICEF in South Sudan and in Liberia, West Africa for a number of years prior to that.

Three things I love about my job are: it’s always interesting – every day there are new meaningful challenges which force me to think and re-think; I get to work with all of our amazing professionals, our regional teams and our national partners and to be energised again and again by their amazing levels of dedication, innovation and sheer hard work; and the third thing is, when I’m not travelling, I get to do all of this from home in Oslo – because Hope and Homes for Children recognises that family has to come first if our work is going to mean anything at all!
