| Hope and Homes for Children’s Christmas Carol Concert
This year’s annual Hope and Homes for Children’s Carol Concert got everyone into the Christmas spirit. Well over 300 people, including our patrons, trustees and many more supporters, attended the event on Wednesday 10 December.
On the night the St Mary Abbots Church in Kensington, London, played host to the acclaimed 3G Gospel Group who performed many Christmas favourites, such as Away in a Manger and Silent Night. Amongst all the carol singing and performances our special guest, award winning Dame Eileen Atkins, gave a humorous reading taken from the film comedy Shirley Valentine.
This year was also particularly special as our Executive Director of HANCi-SL, our partnership organisation in Sierra Leone, Dr Roland Kargbo, joined us in thanking our supporters for all their hard work over the year. This is why the Carol Concert is an extraordinary event – it gives us the opportunity to say thank you for your generous support that makes our work across Central and Eastern Europe and Africa possible.
We would also like to thank everyone who helped in the planning and preparation for this year’s Carol Concert, especially our London Support Group, and Ken Groves for his organisational support.
