The Leleczi family

The Leleczi family were living in a shack with no electricity or running water when Lucicia approached us for help. Her husband had recently left her to care for her three children alone and she was heavily pregnant.

With no shoes or blankets to help see them through the winter, the family were living in dire poverty. The children were at risk of being placed in an institution. We immediately stepped in and helped with clothing, shoes, blankets and other emergency items the family needed. The shack they were living in belonged to a neighbour and didn’t even have a door. We secured the building for the family to make it warmer and safer. In the mean time we helped them find a permanent home.

The progress that the family has made is nothing short of remarkable. They have come through this crisis and are now facing their future with confidence. Lucicia says her children have welcomed their new sibling into the family and that she could not imagine what life would be like if they were not all together.
