“I saw first hand the work that Hope and Homes for Children is doing to enable children to grow up within the love of a family. In Sarajevo I visited a family who had fostered a child, who was blossoming in their care.
“I also visited an elderly lady who had lost her husband and her sons in the war. She fostered three teenagers who had been in a severely bomb damaged orphanage, and 13 years on these young people have responsible jobs and now care for her.
“This amazing work needs to continue. The children are crying out for our love and support. Hope and Homes for Children’s staff show deep compassion as they work in their small dedicated teams to evaluate each and every child’s needs – each child is a precious individual.
“Hope and Homes for Children is committed to its vision that every child needs the love of a family. Love is at the heart of what they do, and they are the only charity to place this first. Regardless of race, colour or creed all children want to be loved and have hope for the future.
“I was indeed most privileged to see this in action. Working together with Hope and Homes for Children we can change so many more children’s lives – Inner Wheel could have a massive impact on this vital work.”
