Hadrian’s Wall Weekend Trek

Hadrian’s Wall Weekend Trek

Dates available:
04 – 06 June 2010 / 06 – 08 August 2010*
05 – 07 August 2011*

Hadrian’s Wall originally ran from coast to coast and spanned 115km (72 miles). Today we are left with only sections of this famous landmark, which cuts though the beautiful Northumberland National Park.

Starting at Lanercost Priory, we trek for 40km (25 miles) alongside the only remaining sections of the wall, admiring ancient monuments, beautiful scenery and the skill of the Roman engineers who built this famous landmark, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We camp at a lovely campsite just outside the small town of Haltwhistle.

This is a great compact challenge as it’s tough and very rewarding. You may like to sign up on this as a training weekend for a longer overseas challenge, use it as a reunion with your friends from previous trips, or simply make the most of being able to take part in a beautiful trek for a good cause without having to take lots of time off work!

Guide Itinerary:
DAY 1: Arrive at the campsite near Haltwhistle – group meal and briefing
DAY 2: Trek from Lanercost Priory alongside Hadrian's Wall through stunning countryside
DAY 3: Great views over crags and lakes along the Wall to Broccolitia Roman Fort
